Friends of Nevis was launched in February 2008 to encourage individuals, families and organisations to help support and manage Ben Nevis and the surrounding Nevis area. This precious and unique environment includes mountains, wild land, glen and river Nevis and a range of visitor facilities such as a visitor centre and numerous low and higher level walks.
Since then we have gone from strengh to strengh and now engage with volunteers, school groups and the local community to really make a difference. Our recent projects have included path repairs, litter picking, education projects and engaging with land owners and the local community.
Ben Nevis and its surroundings mean a great deal to a large number of people from all over the world. Protecting the area, whilst making it accessible and pleasurable to visit, is a real challenge and Friends of Nevis can help through subscribing, donating or contributing time and resources on a range of practical projects such as path maintenance, wildlife monitoring, fundraising etc.
Get involved today and help us to keep Ben Nevis as a wonderful resource for future generations.
Our work is funded by kind donations from the many people and organisations who enjoy the Glen. We are also very grateful to SNH for grant funding us over the past three years.
